Hello, my name is Shameela Khan and I am from the UK, to be precise from Leeds, a beautiful part of Yorkshire and on the doorstep of the world famous Yorkshire Dales. Having graduated and obtained my PGCE in secondary education from Leeds University, I started my teaching career almost 17 years ago teaching English and Media studies. Over the years I have had the privilege of having some diverse and challenging roles within my profession from being head of communications and PR to looking after Literacy across the curriculum in one of the largest schools within the county.
My passion and drive for wanting to make a difference to the lives of young people has bought me to the wonderful UAE and the Cambridge High School here in Abu Dhabi. At Cambridge I am the Head of English where I manage the delivery of English across Key Stage 3,4 and 5. I enjoy my role as it gives me such pleasure to be working with such a diverse and international community.
In my spare time you will find me hiking through the Wadis of Oman and enjoying the beautiful outdoors of the region. My fascination with walking and trying to obtain a healthy lifestyle at the same time is never ending! I look forward to welcoming you to our CHS family in the near future
